MEET OUR DOCTORS:

 

Dr. Kevin Harkness:

Dr. Harkness completed his Bachelor of Science at Brock University. He then went on to graduate in 2001 with a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. He opened West Brant Animal Hospital in March of 2005. Dr. Harkness is married with 3 children and 3 dogs, Pepper, Sasha and Penny. Dr. Harkness has an interest in surgery including orthopedics.



Dr. Carol Richards:

Dr. Carol Richards aquired her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1994. She has a vast amount of experience in small animal medicine and surgery and has an interest in exotic animals (pocket pets, rabbits, birds etc). Dr. Richards is married and has a young son, cats, a dog, two horses, and finally a flock of sheep! She enjoys going to her cottage and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys music and theater.             

Dr Shana Halfon   

Dr. Halfon completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. She then completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2006. Dr. Halfon became a part of West Brant Animal Hospital in June of 2006. Shana was married in Jamaica in November of 2007. She has a black cat named Meka, a 3 legged tortishell cat named Tortileani and a crazy German Shorthaired Pointer named Mylie. Dr. Halfon has an interest in feline medicine and small animal ultrasonography. Dr Halfon and her husband are excited to announce the birth of their first (human) baby; Tyler Alexander born on June 22, 2011.  Dr. Halfon is now on maternity leave for a period of time.

 

 

Dr. Jessika Bronsoiler

Dr. Bronsoiler joined the West Brant team in May 2011.  Before completeing a Master of Science in Cardiology at The University of Guelph, and a Small Animal Internship in 2003-2006, she graduated from Veterinary School in Mexico City in 1996.  Jessika has 2 two dogs; her Goldendoodle Elora, and Schnauzer Kushi, as well as a Siamese cat named Victoria and a Grey Tabby named Manuela.   Dr. Bronsoiler has an interest in Cardiology, Opthalmology and Internal Medicine.  She lives with her husband Alex, and 3 year old son Ethan.  On her days off she enjoys cooking, gardening, and eating good food!
